Shape of embouchure
The mouthpiece is the part of the bamboo tube that touches the player’s lips. Grinds can be carried out in different shapes and angles. Concert pan flutes are manufactured with the standard cut, which can be changed as desired. Master flutes are adapted to the position of the jaw and the blowing technique of the player. Here are the three basic grinding types: 1. Normal grinding -> relatively even grinding on both sides of the pipe. 2. Slight Zamfir cut -> slightly lowered cut on the lip side. 3. Zamfir cut (only for advanced players) -> slightly more cut on the lip side.
